Welcome to the second of two 2007 Tornado Alley Images albums.
The images in this album were taken with a Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi 10MP digital SLR camera. They are high resolution and are available for purchase in large print sizes up to 30x20 inch.
In 2007 I chased in Tornado Alley with my colleagues for 30 days. Again we saw some amazing, awe inspiring displays of nature's power and beauty. Storm structure, tornadoes, lightning, colour and the beauty of the plains - we got it all!
This album includes several tornados as well as photos of the extraordinary aftermath of the deadly May 4 Greensburg, Kansas wedge tornado. The town took a direct hit from a 1.7 mile wide wedge tornado rated at EF5 and packing winds in excess of 200mph. Our chase team was lucky not to be in the path of this huge tornado, instead we were 10 minutes drive south when it formed.
